OAK GROVE TECHNOLOGIES TO PARTICIPATE IN 2009 XTREME BEGINNINGS CAREER EXPLORATION EVENT

Raleigh, NC – Recruiter, Robert Jones, will attend the 9th Annual Xtreme Beginnings career exploration event on April 17th. This year’s event will be held at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh, North Carolina from 9:15 a.m. to 12 p.m.
“Oak Grove is excited to be taking part in this event as it is a great way to give back to our local community,” said Jones. “Participating in Xtreme Beginnings with the Wake County School System is a great opportunity to provide interviewing skills and feedback to the 750 high school students that are participating.”
Xtreme Beginnings enables high school students to discuss career opportunities in over 21 different fields with educators and business professionals. These fields include Architecture & Construction; Business, Management & Administration; Information Technology; and Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics. Students will also have the chance to gain tips and skills necessary to help them land their first job. Sessions will include: Getting your Foot in the Door, Skills Needed for Your Future, and The Reality of Employability & Appropriate Choices.
Xtreme Beginnings includes an employment fair as well as a higher education fair to introduce students to educational programs that take two years or less to complete. Over forty post secondary programs will be featured, and forty employers that are looking to hire high school graduates will be present. Human resource specialists will be amongst 80 business professionals conducting practice job interviews.
