OAK GROVE TECHNOLOGIES NAMED FINALIST FOR 2008 NCTA 21 AWARDS

Raleigh, NC – Oak Grove Technologies has been named a finalist for the Mid-size Company of the Year, Private Company of the Year, and Top Growth Company of the Year categories for the 2008 North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) 21 Awards. Winners will be announced at the annual awards gala on Thursday, Nov. 13 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Cary, North Carolina, presented in conjunction with title sponsor Grant Thornton. The theme for this year’s event is “The Election of 2008” and will be attended by more than 500 executives and leaders from across the state.
Oak Grove Technologies and President, Mark Gross, were recognized numerous times in North Carolina throughout 2008. In April, Mark was featured on PBS and the Small business School website as one of North Carolina’s successful Veteran Business Owners. The episode aired on April 30th. Also in April, Mark was recognized as the Southeast Region and North Carolina Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year. In May, the Raleigh News and Observer published a story on Mark, “Vet Pushes Opportunity”, focusing on the success Oak Grove has experienced, and Mark’s personal success as a Veteran Entrepreneur. As of August 2008, Oak Grove was ranked 288 on the Inc. 5000 List of Fastest Growing Private Companies in America. Additionally, Oak Grove was ranked no. 26 on Inc.’s list of top 100 Government Services companies.

The NCTA 21 Awards are recognized as North Carolina’s most prestigious awards, celebrating innovation and excellence in North Carolina. This annual showcase honors companies and individuals in 21 categories who represent the best and brightest in technology and business. The awards are grouped in five categories: Technology Industry, Stage of Development, Functional, Leadership and Excellence. Each year, NCTA also presents four individual awards, including: NCTA Volunteer of the Year, Public Leadership in Technology, Technology Executive of the Year, and an Outstanding Achievement Award to an individual who has demonstrated a career-long commitment to the advancement of the technology industry in North Carolina.
