OAK GROVE TECHNOLOGIES HONORED BY NCTA FOR EXCELLENCE IN LEADERSHIP AND INNOVATION

Friday, November 14th, 2008

Raleigh, NC – Oak Grove Technologies announced today it was recognized as the “Mid-size Company of the Year” by the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) at its 15th annual NCTA 21 Awards gala Thursday night, which celebrated the patriotic theme “The Election of 2008.” The awards program annually honors companies and individuals from North Carolina’s technology industry for excellence in leadership and innovation. More than 450 industry executives and thought leaders attended the event. The awards program was presented in conjunction with Grant Thornton LLP, a leading accounting, tax and business advisory organization, which also directed the awards selection process earlier this year in collaboration with past and present NCTA chairpersons.

Oak Grove Technologies and President, Mark Gross, were recognized numerous times in North Carolina throughout 2008. In April, Mark was featured on PBS and the Small business School website as one of North Carolina’s successful Veteran Business Owners. The episode aired on April 30th. Also in April, Mark was recognized as the Southeast Region and North Carolina Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year. In May, the Raleigh News and Observer published a story on Mark, “Vet Pushes Opportunity”, focusing on the success Oak Grove has experienced, and Mark’s personal success as a Veteran Entrepreneur. As of August 2008, Oak Grove was ranked 288 on the Inc. 5000 List of Fastest Growing Private Companies in America. Additionally, Oak Grove was ranked no. 26 on Inc.’s list of top 100 Government Services companies.

NCTA’s 21 Awards program is segmented into five categories: technology industry, stage of development, functional, leadership and excellence.

“The 2008 NCTA 21 awards was by far our most competitive with an outstanding list of finalists and a group of award recipients who distinguished themselves through outstanding achievement and superior performance,” said Brooks Raiford, president and chief executive officer of NCTA. “I congratulate Oak Grove Technologies for receiving an NCTA 21 award and for the passion to lead, innovate and create.”

“What an honor to be presented with this award!” Exclaimed Mr. Gross. “This company has taken such grand strides over the last five years and I am extremely proud of our successes thus far. Oak Grove is committed to providing our clients with the best training and technology services we have to offer. Through hard work and dedication, we plan to achieve continued growth and success in the coming years. I’d like to thank the NCTA for awarding my company with this prestigious award. I was greatly honored to accept it.”
