10-Year Anniversary

Oak Grove to Kick Off New Courseware Development for VA

Posted Wednesday, June 13, 2012

Alexandria, VA - Oak Grove is designing and developing six Web-based courses for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Disability and Medical Assessment (DMA).

Each of these DMA courses will address the disability examination process as it relates to the heart, diabetes, genitourinary, skin and scar, respiratory, and nerve and neurology. The six accredited and Section 508-compliant courses will incorporate the use of video to illustrate physicians conducting the entire disability examination.

This new set of Web-based courses is an add-on to six recently completed courses for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Disability Evaluation Management Office (DEMO). The DEMO courses trained physicians on the department-wide process of preparing for, conducting, closing and thoroughly documenting a legally defensible disability examination.

Oak Grove continues in our commitment to helping VA improve the disability examination process in order to provide Veterans and Servicemembers the comprehensive medical services they deserve. These courses are part of a broader VA initiative to streamline the disability claims process.
