Think Rugby. Go Irish!

Saturday, February 21st, 2015

St. Patrick’s Day might be over, but at Oak Grove, we still celebrate the Irish; the Washington Irish Men's Rugby Football Club, that is! The team competes in the Division II Mid-Atlantic Rugby Football Union of USA Rugby. Founded in 1980, the Irish are based in the Washington, DC, metro area and are gearing up to begin their Spring 2015 season in just a few weeks.

Kate McLean, won the scrum at Casino Night.

The club hosted their annual Black Tie Casino Night at The Gryphon in February. It was a fun-filled evening with games, hors d'oeuvres, and great prizes including flying lessons, a booze cruise on the Potomac, ACT Brumbies Rugby Kit, Solidcore lessons, a North Carolina house rental and more! Oak Grove’s Director of Marketing, Kate McLean, attended to show Oak Grove's continued support of the Irish.

Whether we're supporting our employees' healthy and active lifestyles or groups the community, Oak Grove takes pride in continued involvement in several athletic organizations.

If you are in the DC area, be sure to check out a Washington Irish match!
