Last night Oak Grove Technologies CEO, Mark Gross and VP of Law Enforcement, David Shellenberger attended G-Man Honors: A Salute to Heroes, a fundraising event, hosted by the FBI Agents Association (FBIAA) in Washington D.C. The event benefited The Memorial College Fund & The Membership Assistance Fund. It was an evening dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of the men and women of the FBI. In addition, the FBIAA honored Admiral William McRaven with the Award for Distinguished Service, and he also was the keynote speaker for the event. Adm. McRaven has a long history with the FBI. He worked with former FBI Director Mueller intimately after the 9/11 terrorists attacks to go after and ultimately capture Osama Bin Laden. Notable attendees included FBI Director James Comey and former directors Robert Mueller, William Webster, Louis Freeh as well as top FBI officials, the FBIAA executive board, and many others in the national security community.
THE FBIAA MEMORIAL COLLEGE FUND provides scholarships for the children and spouses of deceased, active, and newly retired FBI Agents. To date, the Fund has assisted 198 children in realizing their college dreams. For the 2014-2015 school year, the Fund provided 33 students with scholarships totaling more than $523,000. This year’s fundraising effort is especially important as a larger number of students are expected to apply for scholarships for 2015-2016.
THE FBIAA MEMBERSHIP ASSISTANCE FUND provides financial assistance to FBIAA members and their families who have been affected by sudden hardship or tragedy. The Fund has helped families make emergency travel, afford treatments for grave illnesses and injuries, purchase necessary durable medical equipment, and pay for funeral expenses.
